Long before I built software for schools, I was the kid helping with the paperwork. Teachers I knew — at home, in the community — would hand me a stack of marks, an attendance register, a half-finished term report, and I'd help copy, tally, and tidy it into shape. Page by page. Name by name.
After SHS I stepped into the classroom myself. I taught a Basic 3 class at a private school, and the same pattern that had worn out the teachers I'd helped as a kid was now sitting on my own desk. The teaching part — the actual reason I was there — kept getting buried under the work of recording it.
I built Akyeba for the teacher I was, and for the ones I grew up watching. Built around how Ghanaian schools actually run. Built to take the busywork off the table so the work that matters can come back to the foreground.
